The Big Beat brings together
the largest gathering of drum set
players ever
assembled, to celebrate the joy of drumming
and raise money for worthwhile causes.
We are attempting to break a new Guinness world record for the most drummers playing the same beat
at one time.
The participants also
will also try to set a record for
drummers in all 9 Five Star Cities
playing simultaneously via electronic
connection between all 9 participating
cities. This has never been
attempted!!!!
Top Big Beat pledge-raisers in each city will
be awarded prizes donated by the biggest
names in the drum industry and
there will be a raffle at all locations,
with the national winner getting an
authentic Ringo Starr autograph on a
replica Beatles logo bass drum head!
This
Will Be a DRUM FESTIVAL !!!
We will be hosting
clinics, performances, etc. during the
course of the day.
ALL PROCEEDS TO CHARITIES
BIG BEAT is
a fundraising event to raise money for
local school music programs, and food
for the food bank.
We highly encourage all participants to
raise pledges much like you would in a
walk-a-thon. The pledge form is
available below.
Big Beat event will benefit the
Mr.
Holland’s Opus Foundation and the
Cleveland Food Bank. Founded in 1996,
MHOF donates new and refurbished musical
instruments to underserved schools,
community music programs and individual
students nationwide, in an effort to
give youngsters the many benefits of
music education, help them to be better
students and inspire creativity and
expression through playing music. Since
its inception, MHOF programs have
benefited more than 500,000 students and
have enabled hundreds of dedicated
teachers to provide a better learning
experience in school. Cleveland Foodbank,
provides donated food to local agencies,
food pantries, soup kitchens and
shelters that serve the needy in
Northeast Ohio.
PRIZES:A total of $18,000.

Big Beat. Gear will be awarded to those
who generate the most pledge money.

DRUMS: If
you participate, you'll need drums to
play. (minimum: bass, snare, rack tom,
hihat) You can bring your own drum kit
or rent a set to use at the event.
We'll have the rental kit setup for you
to play when you arrive at the event.
DONATIONS: If you can't
attend, but are interested in making a
donation to help our cause, use the
donation form to send it in.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We have
opportunities for volunteers in these
areas: Stage Hands, Set up and Tear
down, Information, General help. Stage
people must be over 18 and know how to
properly set up and tear down a drum
